About Our Founder

Hunter’s Harvest is a Minnesota-based non-profit organization dedicated to serving and supporting the military and the first responder community.

Hunter’s Harvest is driven by the passion of Rich Bohaty, a lifelong hunter, conservationist and supporter of the amazing people who serve our country and local communities. Rich’s passion for the outdoors began at a young age when he would go pheasant hunting with his father and uncles.

Over time, Rich wanted to find ways to give back and preserve wildlife habitat.  In the early 1980s, while he owned the Piccadilly Restaurant in Mahtomedi, Rich held golf tournaments where a portion of the ticket price was given to Pheasants Forever.  Those golf tournaments evolved into the legendary Wild Game Dinners, which for over 40 years, he supported conservation and also he made sure to have donations for tables to include active and retired military and first responder members of the community.

In the spring of 2020, Covid-19 forced him to put his game dinner on hold, but he was not deterred.  Rich wanted to find a new way to support our military men and women during the Holidays and with a few phone calls, he was connected with Jon Lovald of the Minnesota Veterans Assistance Council; it was the beginning of Hunter’s Harvest.
